Believe Right!

Believer, even when your troubles are of your own making, Christ says to you "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Christ's love empowers us to live the victorious life, free from distress, debt and discontentment; free from years of depression and discouragement. We trust a technician to fix a broken TV set and present us with a perfect product, as long as we pay the right price; trust the One who made both you and the technician to make you whole, and your broken TV set too😊. He paid the full price for our wholeness at the cross. Don't let anyone tell you that God only works certain types of miracles today; like He's not interested in fixing your broken TV set or your getting a cool parking space at the mall. 1 Peter 5:7 says: "casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]." Believers, have you noticed how even nominal christians are unable to escape memorizing Psalms 23? The Lord made it so😀 Our Saviour did not call us His sheep and Himself our Shepherd just to fill up space in the bible. He did so for us to see how hopelessly helpless we His sheep would be without Him. He Himself said "For without me you can do nothing." King David, a former shepherd himself, understood that a sheep is totally dependent on its shepherd for its very existence. This is reflected throughout the popular Psalm. Remember verse 4: ...For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. The rod of a shepherd used is for defending and protecting the sheep from predators and robbers. It is a weapon or tool to provide safety for the flock: Christ our Shepherd and His promise of protection for His sheep in all of Psalms 91. The "sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God," i s the only weapon of attack in "the whole armour of God" that is on all who truly believe Christ. Remember, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour Himself is the Word. Hear Him and Wield Him in every trial and temptation. There is something about the Word of God that causes Satan not to want to hang around those who use it. It reminds him of Jesus, the Word made flesh (John 1:14), who rendered Satan powerless and of no effect when He said, "It is written…" So next time the devil in the form of a minister of Christ comes around to put fear in you by telling you things like "Be careful because I saw your friends/parents/colleagues plotting your downfall in a coven," and then asks you to fast or do things by your own effort to avert the coming disaster, effectively telling you that Jesus died for nothing in your life, respond with: "It is written:  "Indeed they shall surely asse...

Believers, have you ever considered the different functions of the different parts of the whole armour of God as outlined for us in Ephesians 6:14-17? One part in particular has a function that is different from the rest. Check out all of the parts and see if you'll notice: 1. "having girded your waist with truth,"  2. "having put on the breastplate of righteousness,"  3. "and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ,  4. "above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."  5. "And take the helmet of salvation,"  6. "and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;" See it yet? Armour 1 - 5 are for covering and defence. The belt of truth keeps our spiritual clothing from falling off so our nakedness is forever covered- we will not be exposed/ashamed/disgraced; the helmet of salvation on our head deflects attack...

Believers, remember 2 Timothy 3:1-5: "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." At first, one would think vs:1-5 is just about people who are sinning openly and leading outwardly vulgar lifestyles but consider verse 5 which they all have in common: "having a form of godliness but denying its power...."
