God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Believers, because we are in Christ (having the Lord as our Righteousness and not that which is from our own obedience to the Law,) we are automatically God's beloved children in whom He is well pleased. Nothing to do with what we do or do not do; all to do with the perfect work of Christ for us. He loves us so! In Christ, we are no longer under the Old Covenant of the Law but under a New Covenant of Grace and Truth in Christ, where our sins and lawless deeds are no longer remembered by our Abba Father (Hebrews 8 and 10) But does this mean that we now have license to wallow in sin as many say of Grace? Certainly not! Believers, by God's grace, let's take our blessed brains to church🤗 Romans 6:14 says: "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." But somehow, many in the church have it backwards thinking Grace is what will make one go on sinning sprees and forget about Jesus, Grace personified! Not so! If

Perfected in the Spirit

Believers, see Galatians 3 (NLT): 2 "Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. 3 How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?4 Have you experience so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? 5 I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ." Verse 5 says in NKJV: "Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—" Whatever it is that worries you, keep on hearing this "hearing of faith" and you will realise just how much our Abba Father loves you and how it is His greates

Elijah was as human as we are...

Believers, pray for grace and peace to be multiplied in the lives of your local pastors and leaders through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord (see 2 Peter 1:2.) Without the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, they are just as likely to stumble and mess things up as the worst criminal on the street. They're human. James 5 tells us 17 "Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!" Elijah felt the same gamut of emotions that you, I and your pastor feel today. That's Elijah who called down fire from heaven and had the prophets of Baal slaughtered afterwards in 1 Kings 18! He was bold and did mighty things by the power of God. Next thing you know, he was running away scared because common Jezebel threatened to kill him and next thing you know was telling the Lord in 1 Kings 19:14- “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant,

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,...

Believers, Isaiah 54:17 says “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment  You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD." Notice that this blessing is not for everyone that can attach "in Jesus' name" to the end of each prayer point. It is an inheritance (heritage) for those whose righteousness is from the Lord, not their efforts at keeping the law to be righteous or by doing things that they think He likes😊. It cannot be earned by human effort, self-discipline or by any "silly effort to save yourself." According to our Lord God in Isaiah 30:15 - "... “Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves...." Believe Right. Believe that you have been made righteous by one Man's obedience, Jesus Christ's (see Romans 5:19.) By God's grace, confess your righteousne

The hearing of faith.

Believers, the gospel of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is not at all like motivational seminars where we hear a speaker and have to apply his "Seven Steps to Success" in order to obtain results. It is not at all about PERFORMING or DOING. Our Abba Father blesses us via HEARING. This was the experience of Cornelius the Gentile when Peter visited him under the directive of the Holy Spirit in Acts 10. Peter told him about the events in Judea: from John the Baptist to the arrival of our Saviour; how He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil because God was with Him; how He died and was raised from the dead by God; how He commissioned His disciples to preach the Good News and that "He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in Him will have their sins forgiven through His name.” v.43 What happened in the very next verse? 44"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit

Forever righteous, even when we stumble. Christ upholds us with His righteous Right Hand.

Believers, see the Father’s love for us! In Genesis 15:4, when Abram thought that the heir of his house would be Eliezer of Damascus because he was childless, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” Verse 6 tells us of Abram “ And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” The Lord declared Abraham righteous in chapter 15, long before he was going to sacrifice Isaac.  In the very next chapter (16), Sarai and Abram decided to "speed up the process” by getting a child through Sarai’s maid Hagar (Sarai gave her maid, Hagar, to her husband to be his wife), this against the backdrop of God’s promise! In Genesis 17, when God told Abraham that Sarah would bear him a son, Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” –ve

The Light of the world.

Believers, have you ever tried going about your business outside in the bright morning sun with a candle to help you see straight; even on a cloudy day when we know the sun is still shining but we can't see it because of the clouds? If the winds, floods and rains don't put out the flame, you'll end up spending your time trying to keep the candle lit, unable to concentrate or enjoy the beauty around you, bumping into everything and everyone, stumbling often and falling, even falling headlong and breaking your head! But this is what many of us do. Many of us shun the gift of righteousness that God freely gives to us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, the Bright and Morning Star, and hold up our efforts at keeping the Ten Commandments - our own righteousnesses - as the light to guide how we live. Many believers use their law-keeping as the light to their path forgetting John 8:12-  "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows

Amazing Grace in the geneaology of our Saviour Jesus Christ, the King of kings.

Have you ever considered the five women in the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ as recorded by Matthew? The first woman was Tamar, Judah's daughter-in-law. She was the widow of two sons of Judah. When Judah withheld a third son, Shelah, from her, she posed as a prostitute and slept with Judah, her father-in-law. She deceived Judah. The act produced twins, one of whom was Perez, also in the genealogy of Jesus. See Genesis 38. The second was Rahab, the prostitute of the red rope on the wall of Jericho. She also wasn't Jewish. The third was Ruth, a Moabitess, from a people cursed and excluded from the assembly of the Lord forever according to Deuteronomy 23:3- 3 “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord forever" The fourth, though unnamed, was Bathsheba. David killed her husband Uriah after he (David) got Bathsheba pregnant and his attempt to fois

What are you hearing in your local church; life or death? (Pretty long😋)

Believers, most times when we think of areas of "Satan at work," we imagine red-light districts, war, poverty, child-molestation, ritual killings, fornication and adultery, idol worship/juju, the kind of demonic oppression that gets people rolling on the floor and foaming at the mouth; acts of sin in general. While the kingdom of darkness works hard at keeping the world that God so loved locked down in such suffering, captivity and depravity, these overt manifestations are usually the work of minions or lesser devils. Satan himself and his other "spiritual wickedness in high places" demons have a different and more refined approach to their work of stealing, killing and destroying. They work through their ministers in the church! How? See what Paul says of them in 2 Corinthians 11:15- "And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers

Do you wonder if you are really saved?

Believers in Christ, have you ever wondered if you are really saved? Do you wonder if our Heavenly Father hears your prayers? Do you examine your life and (because it's not perfectly sinless) wonder if you will be caught up with the saints when our Lord Jesus returns? Do you think that you will be left behind when the trumpet sounds? These thoughts are akin to what John Kennedy Jr. felt before he died in a plane crash. Right before he crashed his plane into the sea, he experienced a confusion that pilots call vertigo - a disorientation that arises within pilots as they struggle with reason and emotion regarding direction while flying. He lost his sense of direction. Visibility was low. Kennedy was flying downwards and into the sea but his mind told him that he was sitting in an upright position! At the same moment he was feeling perfectly right-side up, his aircraft instruments told him that the nose of his plane was pointing downwards! What to believe! Kennedy decided to
