Worried that you are not doing enough? Understand that "God did not send His Son to the world to point accusing fingers or tell the world what is wrong with it, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Believers, are you worried that you are not giving enough or doing enough in your work, home, church or community? Do you worry that you are doing and giving so much yet your prayers don't seem to make it anywhere? Let not your heart be troubled! The Good Shepherd (our Lord Jesus) knows the best method and best time for sheep shearing, not the sheep. Sheep are helpless without their shepherd. Remember John 15:5 where our Saviour is saying to us-  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."  We are the sheep. He is our Shepherd. We don't know our left from our right; He does. We don't even know what we ought to pray for (Romans 8:26). Christ leads us on the path of righteousness because we don't know this path. This is why Isaiah describes the good things we do to get right with God (our righteousnesses) as filthy rags-- " We are all like one who is unclean, all our so-called rig

The Truth about Christ's words-- "...For many are called, but few chosen.” Matthew 20:16.

"... For many are called, but few chosen.” Matthew 20:16. Growing up, these words of Christ were singled out of their context and preached to many among us in terms of: "God may have called you but you have to make sure that you do your best to be obedient and not sin so that you can be chosen and not left behind when the trumpets sound." In reality, the phrase is all about God's Grace- undeserved, unearned, unmerited favour. Notice that it begins with " For ." This means that its context is predicated on what comes before. The phrase is not even the complete verse. The full verse (Matthew 20:16) reads: " So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” Even the full verse begins with " So ," meaning that its context is based on what comes before. Beloved of God, take a text out of its con text and you will be left with a con. The verse "....For many are called, but few chosen" are the wor

The Parable of the Prodigal Son: the "older brother" angle.

So many things to learn about God's love for the sinner in this parable, even in the life of the older brother who was angry that his dad never gave him even a young goat to celebrate with his friends despite all of his hard work, notwithstanding the fact that he also got his own share of the Father's estate at the same time as did his younger brother. Hear this from Christ Himself in Luke 15:12– “ 11 And He said, “A man had two sons. 12 The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them.” Remember what the Father said upon the return of the son who had squandered all of his inheritance, all after embracing and kissing the returnee:  22 “But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; 23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; 24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to

What does the Lord want us to learn from the Book of Job?

Beloved of God,  Romans 15:4 tells us:  “Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us.” All of the Scriptures have to do with our Saviour Jesus Christ and our salvation by Grace through faith. A quick background is necessary to understand the  mindset  that Job had before and during his trial- until after the Lord answered him: Grace is a Person. His name is Jesus Christ. Titus 2:11 says of Him: "God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone." Verse 14 of the same Titus 2 says:  "He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds." He is the reason for our justification and eternal salvation, even from wrath as it is written in Romans 5:9- "Therefore, since we have now been justified [declared free of the guilt of sin] by H
