Hearing God's voice and discerning the voice of "a thief and a robber

Image
Believer (all who have Christ as our utter Source of Righteousness and Strength,) we don’t need anyone to teach us how to hear and follow God’s voice any more than we need to teach an infant how to hear and follow her mother’s voice amid a crowd of strange women. Christ says to us in John 10– “ 1 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the DOOR, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the DOOR is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the DOORKEEPER opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”   I put some words in caps for emphasis. A quick background: In Bible times, the sheep pen was a rock wall enclosure of loosely stacked stones. It provi

In Christ, God is not counting our sins against us

Beloved of God, consider God's word in 2 Corinthians 5:19 (AMP)- " that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God]." Believer, God Himself is telling us that in Christ, He is not counting our sins against us.  This Truth is usually hard to swallow for those who, like Peter before he denied Christ, erroneously think that they are doing a good job of being sinless. Beloved, the reason why we are not wallowing in sins is because God did not allow us to get tempted beyond what we can bear.  Christ had no sins of His own when He died on the cross for us. It was our entire lifetime of sins that He died for, and His death is a ONCE  for all time death, never to be repeated (Hebrews 9:27.) Jesus is not going to come and die again for the sins that we might commit tomorrow. Man sees this truth as "li

Looking unto Jesus... How do we do this?

Beloved of God, Hebrews 12:2‭-‬3 tells us: "fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Christ had no sins of His own to die for. He had no curse, generational or otherwise. He had no sickness. He was not lacking in any good thing.  It was our sins, our curse, our lack, our disease, our imperfections that He carried. It was our death (the wages of sin) that He died. He endured all of that for the joy of seeing us utterly set free from all these earthly ills and death in hell. Because of false teaching, many churchgoers have grown weary, are discouraged and have lost heart. Why? Their focus has been removed from what Christ has done and diverted to what man must do. Recall the verse above- "For consider Hi
