Rest in Christ is Holy Spirit-directed activity

Believers, rest in Christ is not inactivity. Rest in Christ is Holy Spirit-directed activity. With Christ as our Saviour to the uttermost, the thoughts of the Holy Spirit become our action. In Christ, we don't HAVE to live right; we GET to live right. We get to "produce a harvest of good deeds for God." (Romans 7:4.) In Christ, we get to work out our salvation (do God's good pleasure and become free from sins, addiction, oppresson, sickness, all earthly ills.) We work out our salvation with worship and awe at our Lord God's goodness and mercy towards us, and we are able to do this only because He works in us the desire and the ability to do that which pleases Him, as it is written Philippians 2:12-13- "12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." The message to the angel of the lukewarm church

Believers, believe right. See Christ's message to the church in Laodicea, which still exists today (in the form of beliefs held by some Christians.) Revelation 3:  15“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—" Christ said "I could wish you were cold or hot." The “hot” here is definitely not doing our best at keeping the Law in order to gain right-standing with God while still calling on Jesus, as many teach and believe. This would mean getting cut off from Christ and falling from grace. See Galatians 5:4- "For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grac

Our Lord God Himself causes us to know Him.

Believers, in Christ, we are not under Law but under Grace. See our Lord God's words to us in Hebrews 8 regarding the new covenant (GRACE) that we have with Him in Christ Jesus- "7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. 8 Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the

Response.....

Here goes: 1. What do you think of churches that mix grace and law for example, you are saved by grace but for you to enjoy God's blessings you need to keep covenants e.g. God's commitment/faithfulness is dependent on your action/inaction. Hello! May the Lord bless you and increase your thirst for Him in Jesus’ name. “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2.  There’s content on the “neither cold nor hot church” (mixers of law and grace and how this happens) here- http://rightbelieving101.blogspot.com.ng/2017/04/christs-message-to-church-in-laodicea.html It’s quite long:) See Christ’s words to His beloved - the lukewarm church (He hates sin but loves the sinner): Revelation 3:19 - 22 “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he

In Christ, God gives you a perfect score in law-keeping

Believers, when you are in Christ, having the Lord as your righteousness and forsaking that which comes from works of the Law, God gives you an A-plus in law-keeping and not because you worked for it. How? In Christ, the Law is fulfilled in us but not by us. Our Saviour Jesus Christ bore our sins in His own body, took our curse and died our death that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. He gave His life for us to redeem us from EVERY lawless deed (Titus 2) so in Him, sin no longer holds us captive. Our sins are no longer held against us. In Christ, we are righteous (by faith and apart from works) in the sight of God. This is the message of the cross. This is Grace- undeserved, unmerited favour. But does this mean that we can now go on a sin rampage? CERTAINLY NOT! In Christ, under grace, you will not want to sin. This is the logic of heaven but it is foolishness to those who, in their own wisdom, hold on to their lawful deeds for their right-standing with God, "F

Christ came to redeem us from every lawless deed

The very things that the world says disqualify you from eating at the Lord's table are what qualify you in His eyes. Like Zaccheaus, the woman with the issue of blood and everyone who was saved (healed, transformed, delivered from oppression and delivered from death like the woman caught in adultery) by our Lord Jesus when He walked the earth as Man, when you come to our Saviour Jesus just the way you are, especially with your baggage of depression, fear, sins and addictions, His Spirit will transform you to the image of His glory, from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 5:21;) so don't fret if you don't have it all together yet; His Spirit is transforming you as you are beholding Him and not looking at what a sorry excuse for a Christian you are:) In Him, you will not continue to live in sin. This is why He came, to save us from our sins. If we had none or could live a sinless life by sheer determination, why would we need a Saviour? If one could be sinless, why would one

The LORD Himself holds us up with His righteous right Hand

Mommies and daddies, when you cross the street with your little children, do you hold on to them or do they hold on to you? If it was up to our little children to hang on to us in order to avoid danger as they cross busy streets, even our older kids, many street-crossings wouldn't have happy endings:) How much more our Father in heaven! In Christ, God is our Abba Father. We are His little children. Remember the words of our Saviour Jesus Christ in Matthew 18:3-4: "And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." In order for Christ to be to you Saviour; in order for Him to help you overcome the challenges and dangers (sins, addictions, fear, depression, every earthly ill) of this street-crossing called life, you have to see yourself as a helpless little child who does not know his left

See Christ unveiled in the Old Testament (David and Jonathan)

Believers, Christ unveiled from the Scriptures sets our hearts on fire with His love and transforms us to the image of His glory. Remember those two disciples (Cleopas and his companion) on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24?They were sad because they felt all hope was lost since Jesus had been crucified, was dead and His body was not in the tomb. They did not recognize our Lord Jesus on the way. Here's what our Saviour did on the way: "27 Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures." There was no New Testament at this time so Christ taught them about Himself from the Law and the Prophets. After Christ was revealed to them in the breaking of bread , "32 They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?” Christ unveiled from the Scriptures sets our hearts on fire for Him.
