God’s definition of the Beauty of Holiness

Beloved of God, recall that the Old Testament is ALL about Jesus Christ and our salvation in Him? We see this in Christ's conversation with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24.) The accounts of the Old Testament are faith pictures or typologies whose reality or substance is found in Jesus Christ our salvation. For every demand, He is the Supply.   Now consider Psalm 96:9 which is all about Jesus Christ and Him crucified for our sake— “ Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.”  Psalm 96:9 The word “ beauty ” above is translated from the Hebrew word “Hadara” which means “adornment” or “apparel worn at solemn festivals.” In essence, Psalm 96:5 is telling us what we are to be  DRESSED IN  to worship the Lord. Some Bible versions such as the New English Translation are more expressive of the original Hebrew text—  “ Worship the Lord in holy attire! Tremble before him, all the earth!” Also The Passion Translation— “ Come worship the

God’s Wisdom in our salvation

Believer, the wisdom of God is not human logic: " For the message of the cross is foolishness [absurd and illogical] to those who are perishing and spiritually dead [because they reject it], but to us who are being saved [by God’s grace] it is [the manifestation of] the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 Only when we receive God's abundance of Grace and His gift of righteousness to us in Christ do we GET TO  live in triumph over sin and death through Jesus Christ: " And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ.”  Romans 5:16-17. God’s word above is

What is our “Measure”?

Beloved of God, consider Like 6:38– “ Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The MEASURE you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” Often we quote a particular and very famous Bible verse to highlight the importance of giving. But we tend to ignore the depth of the word “measure” as well as the verses that come after these words of Christ which give them their context. Recall Proverbs 1 where we see the purpose of the Book of Proverbs? One of these is— “ That people may understand a proverb and a figure of speech or an enigma with its interpretation, and the words of the wise and their dark sayings or riddles.”  Proverbs‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭ “ Give and it shall be given unto you….”  — these are the words of Jesus Christ our Wisdom from God. He is the Wise. His words in that passage are a riddle; an enigma, not to be taken at face value alone. Before we address this verse on
