Like sheep, we are lost without our Shepherd.

The sign that we are growing in faith as believers in Christ is realising with each passing day how lost we are without Him; how we cannot even take a single breath without Him, much less earn a living, live right or stop ourselves from sinning by our own strength. Peter tried to do the last one and ended up doing exactly what he said he would not do...three times. The arm of flesh will fail.

Remember Jeremiah 17:5-8
5 Thus says the Lord,
“Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind
And makes flesh his strength,
And whose heart turns away from the Lord.
6 “For he will be like a bush in the desert
And will not see when prosperity comes,
But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness,
A land of salt without inhabitant.
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord
And whose trust is the Lord.
8 “For he will be like a tree planted by the water,
That extends its roots by a stream
And will not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought
Nor cease to yield fruit.

The mature believer is the one who is totally dependent on Christ to do everything for him; like a sheep and Shepherd relationship. He said "...for without me you can do nothing."

Beloved of God, Jesus wants nothing more than for you to depend on Him for your every need, including the grace to go and sin no more. He loves us so. The sheep is lost without the Shepherd.

The Holy Spirit will Spirit will teach you all things.

Believe Right and you will Live Right
