Christ saves from every issue

Believers, the woman with the issue of blood had done her best to get healed with no success. Her sickness only got worse! But her encounter with Christ changed her life forever. She went to Him in her unclean state, empty of works, with no fasting, no seed sown, no law, nothing but her believing what she heard about Jesus: "This Man heals freely with no terms and conditions attached."

If a sharp Pharisee had noticed her in the crowd, she would have been stoned to death. But she had her encounter with Christ and was never the same again. She was delivered from the very thing that made her a pariah; the very thing that made her unclean; the very thing that the law said disqualified her from coming into His presence to receive from Him.

What is your own "issue of blood" today? Is it "not loving God," road rage, porn addiction, fear, worry, adultery, sickness, inferiority/superiority complex, rudeness, fornication, lack, poverty, envy, discontentment, barrenness, a hot temper, uncontrollable anger, disease, drug addiction, depression, stress, low IQ, your kids' poor grades at school or even double-mindedness about "what these grace people are saying?" Take everything to our Saviour today. No need to clean yourself before He gives you His own blood-bought gift of righteousness. You can't even, because our own righteousnesses with which we clean ourselves are like "a menstrual rag" according to Isaiah. No one can be made righteous in God's sight by doing what the law commands according to Romans 3:20.

Like the woman with the issue of blood, come to Him as you are and He will make you clean. He will give you His Shalom (Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility.)

Had the unclean woman continued in her futile effort to make herself clean by her own effort, Christ would have been of no effect to her. The law says not to mingle or touch anyone in her unclean state. Doing what the law said would mean she would never have ventured to touch Christ and be healed. Keeping the law to get right with God will only cut one off from Christ, as it is written in Galatians 5:4 -

"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

According to the law, the woman should not have mingled with the crowd in her unclean state. The teachers of religious law and the religious doctors who had sapped her dry would rather she kept on trying to heal herself with their various law prescriptions, just like many church leaders who prescribe various things for you to do in order for you to be made whole from your sins, sicknesses, addictions, whatever issue you are faced with, etc. They would have freaked out and demanded her head had they caught her in the act of mingling. But Jesus called her action faith. The law is not of faith. Law-keeping in order to get right with God or earn His blessing is a barrier to receiving from Christ. It cuts one off from Christ! See Galatians 5:4 above.

Believer in Christ, you are God's beloved. Think what you wouldn't do for your own kids. How much more our Father in heaven who gave His Son to die for us! See the Father's love for you! Come to Christ with your baggage of sins, sicknesses and addictions and He will make you whole. He says to us in Isaiah 30:15-

"God, the Master, The Holy of Israel, has this solemn counsel: “Your salvation requires you to turn back to Me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on Me— The very thing you’ve been unwilling to do."

"Salvation" above is not just being saved to go to heaven; it is also deliverance from the molestation of enemies and redemption from all earthly ills - worry, anxiety, oppression, depression, sickness, lack, whatever it is that bugs you. It encompasses being saved from the pleasure, power and penalty of sin! The word used in the original Greek text of the New Testament is Swthria (pronounced soteria) and it encompasses all these definitions. That is our Jesus (Yeshua is Salvation in Hebrew.)

By Grace, stop wasting time trying to help yourself like the woman was doing and bring to Christ all of your issues, including acts of sin and everything that makes people call you unclean. He will make you whole. Matthew 1:21 says of Him:

"She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

As it was with the woman with the issue of blood, when you come to Him with your issues and with nothing to present but your believing in Him, He will deliver you from whatever it is that makes you unclean. You will not remain in sin.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
