Will God save me from the trouble that I put myself in?

Yes, when your trust is utterly in Jesus Christ our Wisdom from God. Proverbs 28:26 tells us:
"Self-confident know-it-alls will prove to be fools. But when you lean on the wisdom from above, you will have a way to escape the troubles of your own making."

This is a promise of God to all who believe in Jesus Christ- all who put absolutely no (self) confidence in what we think we can do to save ourselves from our sins and even troubles of our own making but trust utterly in our Saviour Jesus Christ as our Righteousness and Strength. There is no “yes and no" or “maybe" in God's promises to His children in Christ, whatever your circumstances are. 2 Corinthians 1:17-20 tells us:

“17 Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No? 18 But as God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No. 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes. 20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”

The worst thing that a believer can do to himself is try to extricate or save himself from troubles (of his own making or whatever) by his own strength. Judas’ life and death is recorded as an example for us in this regard. He and Peter committed similar sins of betraying Jesus. Peter waited for Christ to restore him. He ended up doing exploits in Christ. Judas looked to himself and tried to get right with God in his own strength (keeping the law concerning restitution.) He failed, got depressed and hung himself-

“For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.” Romans 3:20.
The same thing that happened to the depressed and suicidal Judas who trusted in his own strength (human effort at obedience) to save himself from his troubles is still going on in the world today. Some churchgoers and even those who claim to not believe in God and thus look to/depend on themselves as saviour from their troubles aren't left out: What do we think is the major cause of depression and suicide even among unbelievers? It is guilt for sins (aka not measuring up to particular standards) and the ensuing fear, worry, anxiety, hopelessness and sorrow in the heart - no different from what happened to the remorse-filled Judas who blamed himself for his troubles and tried to save himself from them.
Look around you for salvation from your sins (shortcomings) and troubles and be distressed. Look to yourself and be depressed. Look to Christ and be at rest.” Heard this truth from my pastor:)

Thought to add that Peter's misplaced confidence in himself, his trial and subsequent failure didn't happen just to fill up space in the Bible. It is an example for us so that we should not make the same mistake of trusting in our human strength to obey even a tittle of the law. God does not tempt anyone. James 1 says:

“13 When a person is tempted, they shouldn’t say, “God is tempting me.” God can’t be tempted by evil. And He doesn’t tempt anyone. 14 But each person is tempted by their own evil desires. These desires lead them on and drag them away. 15 When these desires are allowed to remain, they lead to sin. And when sin is allowed to remain and grow, it leads to death.”

Peter's desire was to not deny Jesus (You shall not bear false witness aka the Ninth Commandment) which is a good thing- he wanted to be godly aka "be like God." But his trust and dependence on human strength (arm of flesh) to attain his goal is prideful- it is an evil desire - the same self-righteous and evil desire that drove Adam and Eve to try to be godly (be like God) by their own human effort/will-power. See forbidden fruit as a picture of the law that many are striving to obey in order to be godly (be like God) in Romans 7:8-12 (MSG.)

Satan the accuser goes about looking for those who have this pride in self (desiring and thinking that they can keep the law in order to be godly “like God”) so that he can sift them like wheat. He throws his bait of temptation at such and since the arm of flesh (human effort at obedience) will fail, he can use those temptations to to reel his prey into committing acts of sin for which he can legally accuse and demand that the sinner pays the wages of sin- death.

If you confess that you cannot drive and have Christ as your Vehicle and Driver, Satan will not bother to test your driving skills. He will taunt or accuse you of your shortcomings in order to get you to shift your focus from Christ to yourself and your non-existent abilities but by Grace, we “resist Him, steadfast in the (righteousness that is by) faith.” If circumstances demand that you drive, you have Jesus in whom you have put your trust to save you from your troubles. But like Peter, many have no idea that of ourselves, we have no car and that our driving skills are non-existent. For all who are under Grace, sometimes, our heavenly Father allows some precisely measured trials to come our way in areas where we unconsciously think that we have it altogether, so that when we fall flat on our faces in our thoughts, words or deeds as did Peter, we get to see for ourselves our utter need for His saving Grace- what His Word (Christ Himself) has been telling us all along. See 1 Corinthians 10-

12"So beware if you think it could never happen to you, lest your pride becomes your downfall. 13 We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously."

By Grace, using Judas and Peter's experiences as examples, we get to trust less in ourselves and trust more in Christ our Wisdom from God - He is the Way of escape from even troubles of our own making. He uses those measured trials to show us the futility of trusting in ourselves and saves us from all our troubles whether self-inflicted or otherwise, just as He did Peter. Remember Christ did not give charge of His sheep to a “more-deserving” disciple who did not deny Him three times. The undeserving Peter whom many of us see as the disciple that “failed the most" received that charge. He was also the first of the remaining eleven disciples to see the risen Christ.

Remember God does not tempt anyone. Peter humbled himself under the mighty hand of God or rather, he was humbled by his God-measured trial that God allowed him to go through and exalted by God afterwards- he saw the futility of trusting in himself and cast all his self-inflicted care (troubles) upon Jesus. But Judas pridefully plodded on with his own care- trusting in himself to make things right. Satan accused him with the law (human striving at obedience) that he was trying to follow and devoured him - the law condemns all who try to keep it in order to be godly or live right. These accounts help us to see the truth of 1 Peter 5 which was written by none other than Peter-

“6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Think about it- Grace is undeserved, unearned, unmerited favour. Why would "the God of all grace" need to “perfect, establish, strengthen and settle” the one who can keep the law and stand in his own strength/will-power to obey in the day of trial and adversity? Where is the Grace (undeserved, unearned, unmerited favour) in that? No one can stand by themselves. Not Peter. Not you. Not I. The arm of flesh (human effort at obedience) will fail. By strength shall no man prevail. Peter wrote these verses from the experience of his refusal to humble himself by believing Jesus when He told him about his then upcoming denials, his trial and denial of Jesus and his subsequent strengthening and restoration by Christ. But many preachers wrongly interpret 1 Peter 5:8-9 as:

"Do your best to obey the Law and try to be godly so that the devil will not catch you napping in sin and devour you."

Not so. This false interpretation only goes back to us putting our trust in the arm of flesh (human effort at obedience) that will fail just as Peter pridefully did before he denied Christ; just as Judas did with his attempted self-restoration after he sinned. This is smack where Satan wants everyone to be. This is where Satan can devour as he did Judas. We are to "Resist him (the devil), steadfast in the faith." The law is not of faith. This is the crux of the Good News: Righteousness by Faith. Thinking that these verses mean obeying the law in order to escape Satan is putting more confidence in the flesh (human effort) that will fail in getting us salvation from our troubles. All that this can achieve is put one into a Judas' mode of depression and suicide.

Some preachers recommend giving God a “little” or “big" something in order to nudge Him into saving us from our troubles or to get Him to bless. Believer, by Grace, flee from such. Let's not re-arm Satan with the law (which is all about human effort at obtaining salvation from sin, earthly ills and death) by depending on human strength (law-keeping) to live a godly life or by indulging in those horrid, disrespectful and insulting "trade by barter" Ponzi scheme-like practices of offering useless arm of flesh-driven activities such as fasts and $1,000 to our heavenly Father in order to ginger Him to save us from our troubles or to bless us and our children. Are we talking about the same Father God of whom it is written in Romans 8:32-

"He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"

FREELY. He freely gave us His greatest Prize- His own Son. What more would He not freely do for us?

But antichrist pastors lead many to believe that our heavenly Father in Christ is reluctant to give and save and that He will not save us from troubles of our own making or bless unless we who are and have nothing of ourselves first "prime" Him! Those who are familiar with the workings of water pumping machines of old will understand what priming is: in order to get water running from connected taps, you need to first pour up to half a bucket of water or more down a pipe that goes into a well that supplies water to the taps. Without priming, the taps will not run. But of ourselves, we have no water. We have nothing. God's own water is living and it is free for all who believe.

Beloved of God, it is the "poor man" who looks utterly to Christ for salvation from his troubles and has absolutely nothing to offer God but his entire load of thirst (need and troubles) that He hears and saves from all his troubles-

"5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them."

These are those who fear the Lord: we know that our every breath, godly living and every good work that we get to do is anchored solely on His unfailing Love and unending Supply - Christ Himself. He is our Righteousness and Strength.

Beloved of God, whenever you mess things up and fall into trouble, human effort at getting God to "like you again" will only put you in a worse situation as it did Judas. Trust in Christ our Wisdom from God. Surely He will deliver you from all your self-fabricated sins, addictions, diseases, debts, all earthly ills and death. He will cause you to walk uprightly in His Wisdom and Strength, not your puny strength (arm of flesh that will fail.)

Believer, when you put no confidence in the arm of flesh (human effort at obedience or doing stuff to ginger God to bless) and look to Christ as the Israelites that were bitten by snakes looked to the bronze serpent that Moses lifted up in the wilderness (utterly trusting and depending on Him for salvation from the snake sting of sin and its deathly effects of earthly troubles that lead to death,) you will find yourself living a godly life and making the right decisions for your family, health, eating habits, career, relationships, finances, everything- yet not you but Christ in you. Only believe, and this we do by Grace.

Our Lord God's mercy and His grace are for the undeserving who look to Him utterly for salvation, even salvation from sins and troubles of our own making like the hapless Israelites that were given life through the bronze serpent- a type of Christ - in the wilderness. Christ says in the Bible's most popular passage-

“14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

These are Christ's words but false preachers try to add to it by saying that trusting Jesus is not enough- you have to do something by your own useless will-power to free yourself from your sins and escape the consequences of your errors. The Israelites brought the snakes on themselves
with their sin. Just imagine what would have happened to them had they rushed off to do things to make God heal them or tried to obey the law in order to be healed and saved from their troubles. They would have taken their eyes of the bronze serpent (a picture of Christ lifted up for us) and the snake sting would have killed them faster! This is what trying to keep the law (trying to save ourselves from our troubles) does- it strengthens sin in the lives of all who try to keep it in order to not perish but have eternal life-

"For sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under Law but under Grace." Romans 6:14.

Beloved of God, those sins that you struggle with and which antichrist pastors say are the cause of your troubles and for which they condemn you by saying that they are the reason why God is not blessing you, Christ came to save you from them all. This is Grace- undeserved, unearned, unmerited favour. Beloved of God, Grace is a Person. His name is Jesus Christ. Titus 2:11 says of Him:

"God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone."

Verse 14 of the same Titus 2 says: "He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds."

Those that can free themselves from their sins and save themselves from their own troubles have no need of Jesus as their Saviour. See God's counsel to us in Isaiah 30:15-

“God, the Master, The Holy of Israel, has this solemn counsel: “Your salvation requires you to turn back to Me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on Me—”

By God's Grace, let's stop our silly efforts to save ourselves from the (snake) sting of death that is sin and its consequences of earthly troubles that lead to death through the futile activity of trying to obey the law that gives sin its power - see 1 Corinthians 15:56:

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.”

Also consider this very popular song: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

That's a direct quote from Lamentations 3:22-23. Have you ever wondered why the Lord's unceasing steadfast love and His unending mercies are new every morning? It is because everyday, we fail, and in many more ways than we can imagine. And He is faithful in saving us. Always.

Antichrist pastors and unbelieving churchgoers are always quick to imply that God's Grace (undeserved, unearned, unmerited favour) as shown in Proverbs 28 above and believing the truth of His Grace (undeserved, unearned, unmerited favour) are a blank cheque for committing sins and living recklessly. But God's word says differently. His word says when we receive the truth of His Grace and His gift of everlasting righteousness, we get to live in triumph over sin and death through Christ-

"And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17-18.
