God's grace is the antidote to sin!

Believers, did you know that your sins and shortcomings cannot stop the grace of God from flowing in your life? Rather, God's grace stops sin. Christ came to redeem us from EVERY lawless deed.

Check out the profiles of those that received from Jesus when He walked the earth - adulterers, social outcasts, prostitutes, sick people who had done everything to be healed with no success and the tax collectors who were held in such low esteem that they were a sin category by themselves! Our Saviour's "Neither do I condemn you" is what makes us "go and sin no more."

Many people will tell you that it is sin that cuts one off from Christ. This could not be further from the truth! If this is your mind-set, then you don't need Grace. You don't need Jesus! He came to die for sinners not those who can keep the Law (no one can.)

So what cuts one off from Christ? What can stop His grace from flowing? Self-righteousness of course! Our trying to keep the Law to get right with God - thinking that there is still some good in us and that doing good and avoiding sin by sheer determination and self-will is what makes us okay with God. Galatians 5:4 says

"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

Those who think this way are deceiving themselves too because Romans 3:10 says "...there is none righteous, no, not one".  Romans 3:20 too: "For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are."

Grace is undeserved, unmerited favour! We can't earn it. We can't deserve it. It is for those who see no good in themselves.

Believers in Christ, no matter how hard we try, we cannot be as good as the Pharisees when it comes to law keeping! They tried to attain righteousness for 1,500 years between the time the Law was given through Moses and Grace and Truth came through our Lord Jesus Christ, but they failed woefully, turning to the blood of bulls and goats for atonement! So many ceremonies and sacrifices that they did to be clean! We offer none of these animal sacrifices and perform none of these ceremonies yet we seek to be justified by the law, even when the Pharisees who knew the Law inside out could not be justified by the Law! No one is justified by the works of the law!

Thank God that in Christ, we are no longer under law but under grace. His grace makes you 'go and sin no more,' not your efforts!

Believers, Jesus is the key. Our sins have been exchanged for His righteousness - 2 Corinthians 5:21. When we depend on how good He is and not how good or bad we are for our right-standing before God, His grace flows! What's more, He helps us to depend on Him and because we are now slaves of God, we bear fruits to holiness and do not continue in sin! This Wonderful Author and Finisher of faith- Jesus Christ!

Believe Right and you will Live Right!
