God hates sin but loves the sinner

Believers, we don't need the Holy Spirit to teach us that we will be punished for our wrongdoings and rewarded for doing good. Almost every religion on earth teaches this. This is not of faith. This is not Christianity. This is law. And the law is not of faith (Gal. 3:12.) The Letter kills but the Spirit gives life. Our Saviour Jesus Christ says of the Holy Spirit in John 16 (MSG):

8-11 “When he comes, he’ll expose the error of the godless world’s view of sin, righteousness, and judgment: He’ll show them that their refusal to believe in me is their basic sin; that righteousness comes from above, where I am with the Father, out of their sight and control; that judgment takes place as the ruler of this godless world is brought to trial and convicted."

The Spirit teaches us that we (who believe Christ) do not get the punishment that we deserve because Another, our Lord Jesus, took our place. Remember Isaiah 53:5 "He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities..." This is Grace- undeserved, unmerited favour.

But many people, even those who say that they are Christians, do not believe this Truth (this is unbelief in Christ- the basic sin of the world.) Such expect forgiveness or just "light punishment" for their own sins which they consider to be "not that bad," especially in light of the fact that they do their best to be good; but they expect "special and heavy" judgment of the law to fall only on "core sinners" like homosexuals, prostitutes and even people that wear jewellery, make-up and skinny jeans😊; but do you recall James 2:10-

"For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws."

You see, the ENTIRE curse of the law is on all those who depend on their works (law-keeping and good deeds) to give them right-standing before God. See Deuteronomy 28:15-
“But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you:" The curses are many!

Notice "obey all the commands"? The "all" isn't there as a decoration. Every jot of God's word will come to pass. In order to escape the curse, one has to keep the WHOLE law. James 2:10 tells us that all it takes to be guilty of breaking the whole law is to fail at one point! For example lying is a sin and so is homosexuality; the one (not under grace but under law) who only lied about his location to his boss for a good reason is just as guilty as the child-molesting rapist, murdering homosexual. Ask James 2:10: "For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws." The same curse of the law applies to both!

Some people think that they are better than the homosexuals and other "core sinners" because they are not gay and do not commit certain sins. But recall the story of the Pharisees who wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery. They thought they were "better" until Jesus floored them with His words "He who is without sin should cast the first stone." Those words stand forever.

But God's grace is not a license to sin. It is the key to living a righteous life.

God HATES sin, so much that all it takes to be guilty of the whole law is to stumble at one point. From the "harmless" lie to homosexuality, all are sin and according to His word, the wages of sin is death, preceded by its symptoms aka ALL of the curses in Deut. 28:16-end. Nowhere does grace, personified by our Saviour Jesus Christ, make these or any sin okay. Those who say it is okay to continue in sin because of grace are not under grace. This is another warped attempt by Satan to confuse and blind many to the Truth that sets free. Jude spoke of these scoundrels in Jude 1 describing them as "spots in our love feast."

Do you remember "for sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under law but under grace"? Somehow the church has it backwards saying grace is what makes sin have dominion over one.

God hates sin but loves the sinner so He gave His own Son not just to die for our sins but also to redeem us from every lawless deed: to free us from sin (Titus 2:13-14.) The point is if a person is truly under grace (personified by our Saviour Jesus Christ,) he cannot continue to sin and not by his own effort but because of "Christ that liveth in me," much like how you can't jump into a pool of water without getting wet. You don't have to do anything to get wet once you're in. Here's John 6:44 for anyone that is thinking "but you have to make up your mind and do your best to jump into the pool that is Christ:"

"For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up."

And there we were thinking "I have decided to follow Jesus" when He drew us to Himself! He Himself said in John 15:5 "...for without me you can do nothing."

Grace is the power of God to salvation; salvation from hell, death, acts of sin and every earthly ill. The path of the just (the righteous by faith) gets brighter, never darker as to say that sins like lying about your location to your boss and homosexuality are okay. Recall that the one who did one is just as guilty as the one who did the other according to the law (this is why the Pharisees could not stone the woman caught in adultery.) Yet here we are condemning homosexuals...even in light of John 3:17

"for God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved."

Jesus does not condemn these beloved of God. He wants them, and every sinner, saved. Yet we who are also in need of saving condemn others! He came to save sinners from sin, not tell sinners that they can carry on sinning and leave them to their devices. This is like telling a man that is drowning (being homosexual or whatever sin) to continue drowning; such will eventually die. Anyone who preaches this perversion is of the devil. Sin destroys. Jesus saves from sin. He never leaves us to wallow in sin because we are forgiven.

Romans 6:1 "...Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?" Do you know who said it and why? Paul did, because people were falsely accusing him of preaching that it is okay to continue to wallow in sin because of grace (Romans 3:8.) Same label many religious people are trying to stick on we grace children today.

Our God is a righteous God and cannot abide an iota of sin in oceans of our puny attempts at keeping the law. No one can achieve the righteousness or full moral excellence that the Law demands by human effort. Romans 3:20 says "FFor no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are."

Our Lord Jesus Christ's righteousness is a gift to all who believe Him. We can't earn it by keeping the Ten Commandments. We can't deserve it. It is a gift of grace- undeserved, unmerited favour. Romans 5:17 says:
"...But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ."

Only in Him do we live right/triumph over sin.

The Holy Spirit will teach you all things.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
