About that shaku shaku post...and others like it that tell believers to stop doing this and that....or else face wrath

I just read one post like that about how believers should not dance "shaku shaku" because it has its origins in slavery and how it has so and so effect.

Shaku shaku is just one out of the zillions of weaknesses that plague man (if indeed dancing to its tune has evil consequences as alleged.) But consider how many dance steps we have to do research into in order to know about the origins and effects of each dance move? Who knows the origin of komólè and all of our cultural dances? Beyond dance, what about the food that we eat? One famous pastor told us that anyone who eats or has eaten Èwà Àgòyìn before has eaten food sacrificed to idols and is now in trouble and cursed!

And what about people like me who can't dance but just move our feet in a kind of sideways/left-to-right shuffle during praise and worship? Is the dance not reminiscent of shackled slaves shuffling along? And the hairstyles that women with unprocessed hair do because pastor said "don't perm your hair"? Many of those carved idols that our ancestors worshiped have shùkú, kòlésè, etc hairstyles. These hairstyles predate the advent of Christianity and have their origins somewhere.

The thing is, once you think you are "ok" because you have escaped this alleged shaku shaku bondage by human effort at not dancing, Satan will bring another weakness for you to worry about. Today it is shaku shaku. Tomorrow it is pornography or carved beard. Remember Christ told the rich young ruler who thought he had kept all the law from his youth:  “One thing you lack”? The situation with all human beings has not changed. Of ourselves, we are all lacking in righteousness, down to the holiest Daddy in the Lord that is pointing fingers from the pulpit. The accusations that his ministers throw from their pulpits can never finish because “There is none righteous, no not one." Romans 3:10.

Matthew 1:21 says of Christ- "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

But many point out what is sinful according to their opinions without pointing you to Christ as Saviour from sins. Such point you to yourself to save yourself or else wrath will befall you.

This practice of "pointing out things that are ungodly and that you should do or stop doing so that you can be saved" is Satan's fear-mongering tactic to keep some believers smug because they don't dance shaku shaku and to make others who have danced afraid and scampering all over the place for the same salvation (even salvation from sins) that Christ died that we might freely have.

You can't expect to be saved by Christ (Grace) while depending on your own human effort at saving yourself by not dancing shaku shaku (Law.) Law and Grace don't mix. This is the "neither cold nor hot" that Christ spoke of in Revelation 3. Notice no Christ saving in the equation of salvation from the alleged ills of dancing shaku shaku in those posts? It's all about you saving yourself...or else.

Such posts put fear in God's children while denying them access to God's sufficient grace. Grace is nullified where human effort at salvation (law) is involved-

"I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favor], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.]” Galatians 2:21.

The author of the post said "Fine, God's grace is sufficient for us but WISDOM IS APPLICABLE...." In essence, he is saying that God's grace is sufficient but you still have to do certain things by your own power and apply your own human wisdom in order to make sure that you are saved!

Any sentence that has the word "but" after "Fine, God's grace is sufficient for me..." is usually untrue. It is akin to saying to a child: "Yes, I know your Father's food is sufficiently rich and abundant BUT you still have to look for more food elsewhere by yourself or else you will starve and die."

To say things like: "Fine, God's grace is sufficient for us but WISDOM IS APPLICABLE...." is to say that God's grace (which by the way means undeserved, unmerited favour) is so weak that we need to add our own foolish and pointless human wisdom to it to make it completely sufficient.

The entire verse reads: "But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Like Satan that cannot quote bible in its correct context, these posts will not give you the full context of the word because the Word will cause you to be free from fear and reign over sin. How?

The lack of godly wisdom for living is a weakness that defines all humans in the natural, or else nobody would ever commit sin, make a mistake, be ignorant of deadly actions like dancing shaku shaku (if indeed it has slave origins) or do something that they regret. This is why Christ died- to give us strength in our weakness.

Grace is undeserved, unmerited favour. It is akin to a person with no sense at all whose whole life is about dancing shaku shaku being called to Christ, gifted with God's righteousness and godly Wisdom and transformed by the Holy Spirit. Grace is Christ's strength perfected in weakness- our weakness, even weaknesses like shaku shaku and the millions of other things that humans do without knowing the danger within. There is no godly wisdom without Grace. Wisdom to live right is a gift that we have under God's grace. Christ Himself is Grace and our wisdom from God, righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Our salvation in Christ is not about judging what is sinful in the lives of others and what is not. Our salvation is about Christ dying to make us righteous in God's sight, saving we who believe from our sins and causing us to live in triumph over sin and death by His power (Romans 5:17). This is Grace- undeserved, unmerited favour. None of us deserve salvation. Christ died for us to have it freely. Pointing out alleged sins like dancing shaku shaku is neither here nor there if there is no righteous foundation for salvation. James 2:10 says "For whosoever shall keep the whole law yet stumble at one point, he is guilty of all." So you don't dance but you lied to your boss or gave law enforcement money to let you be on your way quickly, without God's gift of righteousness to us in Christ, all are as guilty as the world's vilest offender.

Every single one of us, even the holiest Daddy in the Lord, has at least one thing that would make us "unrapturable" if the trumpet should sound right now and our salvation depended on our ability to do the right thing. Satan knows this and so is always pointing out one thing that is bad or unrighteous and makes it look like this is why bad things can happen to you. But just when you think you have overcome the spirit of slavery by not dancing to shaku shaku anymore, he will remind you about that time that you used to eat Ewa Agonyin (usually through his ministers on the pulpit) and how you are now under some curse because of it. The cycle never ends. Once you finish dealing with one curse, another reason to be cursed is thrown at you. Handle your cares by yourself and it will never finish. Romans 3:10 says "There is none righteous, no, not one." Satan (through his ministers behind pulpits) will keep on pointing out your flaws/weaknesses and how YOU must save yourself from them, putting your focus on your own useless strength and off Christ whose strength is made perfect in weakness. But this is not the life we are called to live in Christ of whom Titus 2:14 says-

"He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds."

Rely on human effort at overcoming your weakness and at being righteous and there will always be "one thing you lack," just as it was with the rich young ruler who thought he was set for eternal life because he did everything right. Christ set him straight. Trust in Christ and you will find yourself living right by "accident"-

"For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17.

Romans 5:9 says of God: "And there is still much more to say of His unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in My sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God."

Believe on the Giver and His gifts will follow, even the gift to live right. With Christ as our righteousness and not our puny efforts at doing or not doing in order saved from wrath, "all these things shall be added unto you."
