Christ will get your act together for you

Believers, Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Even though you don’t have it all together right now and your life as you and other people see it is far from being holy and upright, believe with your heart that you are the righteousness of God in Christ. The entire gospel of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is based on righteousness by faith!

2 Corinthians 5:21 says- "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

This gift of righteousness (by faith) isn't for those "who can keep the law" and who "have it all together." God justifies the ungodly, not the "good people" who are "not sinning!" Notice the parentheses? These people are only deceiving themselves and the truth is not in them. Don't model your life after theirs. Their pride in their ability to keep the law which they have watered down to a level where it is "keepable" has blinded them from seeing their need for Christ to save them! The Law can never make anyone righteous in God's sight. They have been cut off from Christ according to Galatians 5:4:

"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

If you are broken, weak, bound by your sins and addictions and don't know what to do to get out of your situation, you qualify for His grace! He came for the sick, not the healthy; for sinners, not for "good people." Without Him, we can do nothing. He doesn't need your help to save you, we have nothing to offer:) He will deliver you from these things. Your path will shine ever brighter unto the perfect day.

Believe that you are the righteousness of God in Christ; confess it with your mouth and see it manifest, as it is written in Romans 10:10 - “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Salvation here encompasses deliverance from the power, pleasure and penalty of sin, deliverance from the molestation of enemies and redemption from all earthly ills. The word used in the original Greek translation of the New Testament is Swthria (pronounced soteria) and it encompasses all these meanings. That is our Jesus (Yeshua =Salvation)! In Him, God works in us both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13)

When you speak out your righteousness in Christ, every single blessing that is for the righteous in the bible becomes yours! The fiery darts of the wicked one including:

1. thoughts that try to get you to condemn yourself for your sins so you can face judgment even when there is no condemnation for you in Christ
2. accusations from people who tell you that you are not really saved because you sinned and
3. pressure to intensify your obedience to the Ten Commandments in order to get right with God and thus be cut off from Christ according to Galatians 5:4;

These will all fail in your life because-
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the LORD.
(Isaiah 54:17)

Notice that this blessing, as with all other blessings of God for believers whose righteousness is found in Christ, is not earned by fasting and prayer or by keeping the Ten Commandments. It is an inheritance (heritage) for those whose righteousness is from the Lord, not their efforts at keeping the law or pleasing Him. Believe. Confess it and see it!

How can a Saviour who came to save us from our sins use those very sins as an excuse for not saving us?

Faith comes by hearing too. This "faith hearing" is definitely not the Ten Commandments or anything along the lines of "do good, get good; do bad, get bad." The law is not of faith so keeping the Law in order to attain righteousness is being FAITHLESS and without faith, it is impossible to please God:)
