Jesus saves from sins.

No amount of trying to get one's act together, doing good deeds or keeping the Ten Commandments can make anyone righteous, deserving of God's blessings or Rapture-ready, "For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are." Romans 3:20.

In fact, keeping the law in a bid to get right with God has a deathly effect, "For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace." Galatians 5:4.

But does this mean that we are at liberty to wallow in sin? Certainly not! Christ is the Way out of sin. Christ died to redeem (buy us back) from the lawless deeds that hold us captive. "He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds." Titus 2:14.

Christ changes us; makes us whole. Not our efforts.

Why would Christ use the very sins that He came to save us from as an excuse for not saving us? This is akin to an oncologist father refusing to treat his beloved child that has cancer...because the child has cancer. The child cannot treat himself. Without treatment, the cancer will metastasize and the child will die. But in church today, the sick child (sinner) is being told to rid himself of the cancer (sin)that is killing him, and that his father will punish him if he does not make himself cancer-free.

Believers, believe right. Stop doing and start believing and you will do exploits, yet not you but Christ in you. By God's grace, stop depending on your own righteousnesses from works of the law and receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that Christ died that we might have. This is the only way to live in triumph over sin. See Romans 5:17-

"For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ."

Many people do not yet realise that sins are prisons and getting out requires the death of the sinner, a death that Christ died for all. No one can attain freedom from sins by their own power. If this was possible, Jesus would not have needed to give His life to save us from the very same sins. If you can save yourself and make yourself Rapture-worthy by your own effort at doing right, you don't need Jesus. He didn't come to save such who can "maintain their salvation." He came for the sick!

We often tell ourselves and others "I can never do something like that;" the same thing Peter did before he denied Jesus....three times. The reason that we are not committing particular sins is because we have not been tempted beyond what we can bear regarding those sins. In Christ, the Lord our Shepherd (Christ Himself) keeps us from going astray.

The Holy Spirit will teach you all things.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
