In Christ, God will NEVER be angry with you or punish you.

Believers, do you ever think "Now that I am born-again and justified (made righteous) by Christ's blood, I have to do my best to be obey the law and be good in order to avoid God's wrath?" This is wrong believing. Christ did ALL that needs to be done in order for us to be saved from God's wrath. See what Paul says of we who have been justified by Christ's blood in Romans 5:9- "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him."

See the NLT version: "And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s condemnation."

Let's take our blessed brains to church. If a believer could be sin-free by his own power, why would he still need saving from God's wrath? If there was anything that a believer could, by his own power, do to be saved from God's condemnation, why would he still need Jesus to save him from God's wrath? Only those who sin can be condemned and need saving from God's wrath; and it is by His power alone that we will not sin. See John 1:1-2-

"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."

As believers in Christ, our righteousness is not from our human effort at being obedient. It is a gift and it is everlasting for all who are in Christ. The only way to undo it is to reject God's gift of righteousness in Christ for the righteousness that proceeds from human effort at law-keeping, filthy rags according to Isaiah. Plus, as the righteousness of God in Christ, made righteous by Christ's obedience (Romans 5:19) and not our own obedience, God can NEVER be angry with us or punish us WHEN WE SIN because Christ bore the full anger of God and the punishment for our past, present and future sins (see Hebrews 10:12) when He hung on the cross in our stead. Our Abba Father says of us who are under His covenant of peace (Grace:)

"“Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you."

This is written to believers in Christ. This verse does not apply to people who by their own effort have no sin. It is for people who deserve punishment for their sins. God is righteous and will not punish the same sin twice. Christ already took our punishment. Plus "He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds." Titus 2:14.

Our Abba Father corrects us, never punishes us. Even we who know nothing discipline our children because we love them; but His correction is "for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness." Hebrews 12:10. It always pays off handsomely!

Remember Proverbs 4:18 "But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day." Believers, none of us have arrived. Remember "There is none righteous..." Our righteousness is from the Lord, not our works. This verse would not exist if there was something like a Christian that has achieved perfect sinlessness, much less by his own effort at being good!

But does this mean that we have liberty to sin as we like? Certainly not! Many people think that we grace children are just looking for an excuse to wallow in sin but nothing could be further from the truth. This gospel of Christ (Grace) is the power of God to salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16,) even salvation from acts of sin (Matt.1:21.) Trying to keep the law is the sure way to get cut off from Christ (Galatians 5:4) and under law is where sin has dominion over one (Romans 6:14.)

This is how to live in triumph over sin and it has got nothing to do with our efforts at doing right: Romans 5:17 - "For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ."

With His gift of righteousness comes no condemnation. It is Christ's "Neither do I condemn you" that makes us "go and sin no more."

The Holy Spirit will teach you all things.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
