Why Christ was crucified and not stoned to death

For most capital offenses under Jewish law, stoning was the mode of execution, not crucifixion. Under Mosaic (Jewish) law, "anyone who is hung on a pole is under God’s curse" (See Deut. 21:22-23. ) Christ's hanging on the tree (cross) for you and I was no accident or just happenstance. It was to redeem us from every curse, including generational curses. He took the curse of the law that should fall on us upon Himself to redeem us from every curse.

One has to be perfectly sinless in order to escape the curse of the law if one's righteousness is via obedience to the law; but no one can ever attain righteousness before God by doing what the law commands (Romans 3:20.)

God saw how hopeless our case was so He gave His own Son to become a curse for us, because He loved us so. The generational and other curses that we were fated to bear, Christ became for us, as it is written in Galatians 3:13-

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

In Him, we have not the curse of the law but every blessing of Abraham. In Him, we have the promise of the Spirit through faith. Believers, there is nothing like generational or other curses (lack, barrenness, inherited sicknesses, etc) in the lives of all who believe in Jesus. Many in the church are not enjoying the blessing of Abraham because of wrong believing. Why are we still breaking "every curse of my father's house" in our meetings if Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law? This is a show of unbelief. Let's not be found here. In Christ, there is no generational or other curse for the believer.

Let Christ love you into wholeness. Ask Him to divest you of every wrong belief that you still hold on to today and cause you to be a hearer of the word of Christ.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
