God the Just is satisfied to look on Christ and forever pardon every sinner who believes

When payment is made to a creditor on your behalf, who must be satisfied? You? The creditor of course! Believers, we were all (sin) debtors to God until He lovingly gave up His Son as payment for ALL of our sins. Romans 5:9 says of Him:

"And there is still much more to say of His unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in My sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God."

Believer, God is satisfied with this payment for our freedom from sin and death (sickness, lack, depression and every earthly ill are symptoms of death.) With Christ, He gives us all things FREELY and not because we did anything to deserve it. See Romans 8:32-

"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"

In Christ, we are God's beloved and He is well pleased with us, not because of what we did/do but because of what Jesus did. Trying to obey the law or doing good things in order to be righteous, close to our Lord God,  please Him or get from Him is looking for justification in the Law after God gave His own to die for our justification. This makes Christ of no effect in the lives of whosoever lives by the Law (do good, get good; do bad, get bad) - including believers. See Galatians 5:4 -

"Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."

See the NLT: "For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God's grace."

Because many of us don't feel or even know of this satisfaction that God already has at the overpayment of our sin debt by our Saviour Jesus Christ, we try to "make up" for our sins by promising to try harder to obey the law, doing good works and doing restitution. Judas tried this way and he died. The letter kills. Peter and even the rest of the disciples also committed a similar sin of betraying Jesus- they all went into hiding; but they did not try to right themselves before God or get back into His good graces by human effort like Judas. Peter rested  in God's Grace and the cowardly reed who denied Jesus three times out of fear after boasting that he would not was transformed by the Holy Spirit to a bold pillar of the church who publicly preached a sermon where 3000 people were saved and in full glare of the religious Jews who were out to kill the disciples of Jesus!

Believer, trying to obey the law and doing "good" things so that we can get right with God, receive from Him or be pleasing to Him is akin to telling Him that what Christ did at the cross is not enough! Those "good things" we do in order to be godly/righteous are like a menstrual rag in God's sight according to Isaiah 64:6-

"We are all like one who is unclean, all our so-called righteous acts are like a menstrual rag in Your sight."

Believer, Christ is our restitution! He restored what He did not take! Because of His sacrifice, God sees all who believe in Him as righteous through and through and not because we obeyed the law or did anything at all to deserve it. This is Grace- undeserved, unmerited favour. You don't qualify for it if you still think that there is some good in you. This is why the Pharisees remained blind and could not receive from our Lord Jesus Christ when He walked the earth as Man.

Believer, one cannot have one leg on Mount Sinai and the other on Mount Zion. One cannot put new wine in old wineskins. Both will be lost. Jesus Christ the Son will not share the house with Moses the servant!

Believers in Christ, having Him as our righteousness and  not trying to re-accomplish His finished work of saving us with our silly efforts at saving ourselves (aka professing Christ but trying to be righteous by doing works of the Law,) we are God's beloved children in whom He is well pleased. We are accepted in the Beloved. Nothing to do with what we do or do not do. He loves us so! Not under the Old Covenant of the Law of Moses but under the New Covenant of Grace and Truth in Christ, where, because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our sins and lawless deeds are no longer remembered by our Heavenly Father. (Hebrews 10:1-17.)

But does this mean that we can now go on sinning sprees? Certainly not! Those who think they can obey the law or not sin by human effort have no idea that the reason why we are not committing particular sins is because we have not been tempted beyond what we can bear in those areas. No matter how hard a weightlifter trains, he cannot carry a weight that is designed to crush him 10 times over, and life does not consider weight, resources or level of preparedness before throwing weights at anybody. Because many have not encountered dire situations that will make them do the unthinkable, many boast that "I can never do that." Peter too boasted that He would never deny Jesus...

Proverbs 16:18 counsels us:

"Your boast becomes a prophecy of a future failure.
The higher you lift up yourself in pride,
the harder you’ll fall in disgrace."

The potential to commit heinous crimes is everybody. God sees this potential and how favourable circumstances can make some people think that some sins are beneath them, that they can obey the law and even boast that: "I can never do that kind of thing." Peter thought so too...until his circumstances became unfavourable....

For we who are in Christ, this is how we overcome trials and temptations: 1 Corinthians 10:13-

"We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously."

Someone needs to bring you out of every trial, test and temptation. His name is Jesus Christ. In Him, God screens and filters every test or trial that comes our way.... and provides the way of escape. This is how we stand. In Christ. But many of us think we did good all by ourselves. No friend. The arm of flesh (human effort) will fail.  When our eyes are opened to His revelation of how we overcome trials and temptations, it becomes difficult for us to condemn those who are still held captive by their sins.  Instead, we point them to the One of whom it is said in Matthew 1:21-

She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

And Titus 2:14- "He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds."

Notice "every kind of sin"? No sin is too big for Him to save the sinner who believes from. Even the vilest offender who believes receives forgiveness and everlasting righteousness but in Him, we never remain the same. All who receive God's abundance of Grace and His gift of righteousness to us in Christ GET TO live in triumph over sin and death through Jesus Christ:

"For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ."

There is no condemnation for us in Christ Jesus. And it is His "Neither do I condemn you" that makes us "go and sin no more." Let's take our blessed brains to church: the gift of no condemnation can only be received by those who have sins that they should be condemned for!

Believe Right and you will Live Right!
