Hyper-Grace: God's super(hyper)-abounding Grace that swallows up sin.

Believer, beware of Satan's ministers who try to belittle or redefine God's super-abounding Grace that saves us from from sin - those who use terms like "hyper-Grace" in a negative manner to keep you from experiencing God's superabounding Grace that is too much for any sin to withstand. God does not give you just enough Grace to deal with your sins. Believer, it is HYPER-ABOUNDING Grace that stamps out sin where sin increases. Romans 5:20 tells us:

"The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,"

See the Amplified Classic Version: "But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God’s unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded,"

Wolves in sheep's clothing will never tell you that keeping the law in order to be right with God will only cause sin to increase (Romans 5:20 above,) give sin dominion over one (Romans 6:14) and cut one off from Christ (Galatians 5:4.)

But the point here is the word: "superabounded" or "abounded all the more" from Romans 5:20 above. This phrase is just one word in the original Greek text: "upereperisseusen." See the Greek lexicon and a screen-grab of Romans 5:20's Greek-to-English translation below -

"upereperisseusen" is a combination of two greek words: "huper" (super) and "perisseuó" (abound) which our English Bible translates into "superabounded" or "abounded all the more" depending on the version you are reading.

Believer, the Greek word "huper" is where we get the English word "Hyper." and it means "over, above and beyond" your present situation. See the link to the scriptural definition as it relates to Romans 5:20 here:

God's word is telling us in Romans 5:20  that where sin abounds, God's Grace "hyper/super-abounds." Yet we hear some "men of God" exposing who their master really is (Satan) with their negative connotations of "hyper-Grace" and their belittling and derision of God's super/hyper-abounding Grace that swallows up sin.

Believer, hyper-Grace is Grace that goes "over, above and beyond" your sins, stamping them out with a force that goes way beyond quenching a lit matchstick with all the water in the Atlantic ocean. Your sins cannot survive God's hyper-abounding Grace.

Messengers of Satan behind many pulpits use the term "hyper-Grace" in a negative manner that connotes laziness and committing sins anyhow in order to keep churchgoers from being interested in knowing the Truth that makes us free. They falsely accuse Grace children of preaching that it is okay to commit sins since God has forgiven us and made us righteous by Christ's blood. Their counterparts during the time of the early church also falsely accused Paul in the same manner. Paul preached of God:

"And there is still much more to say of His unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in My sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God." Romans 5:9.

Paul preached Christ's crucifixion and resurrection as the basis for the forgiveness of our lifetime of sins and our right-standing with God. He wrote of Christ in Romans 4:25-

"who was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised up because of our being declared righteous."

See the TPT: "Jesus was handed over to be crucified for the forgiveness of our sins and was raised back to life to prove that He had made us right with God!"

So much more in Romans 1-5. The religious people of his time could not bear to forsake their works of the law which gave them boasting rights over mere sinners. They twisted the Gospel of Christ that Paul preached as license to commit sin and like their counterparts today, falsely accused Paul of preaching that it is okay to commit sins since God has forgiven us and made us righteous by Christ's blood. See this in Romans 3:8-

"Some people are actually trying to put such words in our mouths, claiming that we go around saying, “The more evil we do, the more good God does, so let’s just do it!” That’s pure slander, as I’m sure you’ll agree."

Their false accusations is the reason why Paul asked this question in Romans 6:1- "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?"

Paul was asking: Do all of these things that I wrote in Romans 1-5 mean that we can just go and be sinning anyhow?

But these false preachers will never give you Romans 6:1 (Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound...) this in its correct context nor will they give you the answer to Paul's RHETORICAL question which he answered by himself: Romans 6: 2 "Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"

Essentially, Paul is saying being under Grace without ending up living a life of moral excellence is as impossible as jumping into the sea naked without getting wet. Christ Himself says the same thing in John 15:5-

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."

See the TPT:

"I am the sprouting vine and you’re My branches. As you live in union with Me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from Me you are powerless."

And how is it that one gets separated from Christ? By doing the very thing that false teachers tell us to do - depending on human effort at being righteous aka law-keeping. See Galatians 5:4-

"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God's grace."

But how is it that "where sin increased, God’s grace increased even more?"

How is it that God's hyper-abounding Grace stamps out sin? We see how God's grace this in the life of Peter. He boasted that he would not deny Christ, rose to Jesus' defense in Gethsemane and even cut off someone's ear, ready to fight for Christ! But in the end, he denied Christ...three times... with swearing and cursing...and the first time upon being accused by a servant girl, not even a soldier. The arm of flesh (human effort at being godly) will fail. Imagine Peter remembering Christ's words in Matt. 10:33- "but whoever denies Me before men, I also will deny before My Father who is in heaven." How fallen and lost he must have felt.

But check out what happened on resurrection morning in Mark 17- the women who were going to anoint Jesus' body were shocked to see an angel in the tomb,

6 "but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid His body. 7 Now go and tell His disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there, just as He told you before He died.”

See "go and tell His disciples, including Peter..." Why the special mention of Peter's name and not that of any other disciple? It is because "But where sin increased, God’s grace increased even more." All of the disciples fled and went into hiding, but the one who many of us see as having "failed the most" among them got a special mention.

Did you know that Peter, the one who denied Christ three times, was also the first of all of the remaining disciples to see the resurrected Jesus Christ? We see this in Luke 24:34 and 1 Corinthians 15:5. HYPER/Super-abounding Grace.

Then came the Day of Pentecost– Peter who had been so scared of being associated with our Saviour after His arrest, who lied (with his mouth) upon being accused by a simple servant girl and then two more times, the one who many of us see as "failed the most" among the disciples, preached a sermon (in public!) that got 3,000 people saved. No fear of the teachers of religious law and Pharisees who were still out to get Jesus' followers.

Notice Peter glorified God with his mouth, the place where sin increased in the past? Remember:

"But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God’s unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded,"

Location is key. The same mouth that denied Christ ended up being transformed to give Him glory. But God's grace hyper-abounds beyond Peter's mouth. Through the power of Christ in him, he preached powerful sermons and people got saved; through the Grace of God that was with Peter, the dead were raised to life and the sick were healed! Today, Peter who denied Jesus three times is regarded as a pillar of the early church!

This is the effect of super-abounding Grace aka Hyper-Grace. It swallows up sin and transforms us from Simon (meaning Reed, easily swayed by the elements) to Peter (meaning Rock- bold and unshakable in Christ.) Truly, "...But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more," Not just one batch of grace but hyper-Grace - more than enough to stamp out sins; it continues forever:

"From His fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace," John 1:16.

Believers, believe right. "Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound...." The Ten Commandments  that many are struggling to obey in order to get into God's good graces is designed to make the offence (sin) abound. Sin multiplies when one tries to get right with God by obeying the Ten Commandments.

We see this again in Romans 7:14- "For sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under law but under grace." But many who profess Christ have this backwards."

Believers, only the sinless blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ can make us righteous in God's sight. Depend on your own obedience to the law to get right with God and sin will increase. Rely on the obedience of Jesus Christ (Grace personified) to make you righteous (Romans 5:19) and you will not continue to live in sin. See Romans 5:17-

"For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)"

Beware of those who preach hyper-Grace to mean just sinning anyhow. They don't want you to be free from theirs and the captivity of sins that lead to death. they don't wan't you to know the Truth that makes free.

God's hyper-abounding Grace is just what we need to live in triumph over sin. Receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness and you will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ, including reign over sin- Romans 5:15-17:

"15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of forgiveness to many through this other Man, Jesus Christ. 16 And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ."

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
